Fun Activities

BEST FRIENDS AND THE BRIGADE

Brigade -  109 W. Columbian Avenue, Neenah

Your child can participate in this program for the school year for FREE!

It’s not too late to have your child participate in The Brigade program. The Brigade is offering the children in the Best Friends program (grades 5-12) a Building Leadership program on the 3rd Sunday of each month from September to April. Time varies each month.  If Sunday doesn’t work for you there are also other opportunities to attend Brigade during evening programs. Because of the generous support from JJ Keller Foundation, there is NO COST.  Youth will learn many hands-on skills like woodworking, welding, cooking, glass fusing, picture framing and archery.  Youth also learn from speakers, do team-building activities and learn about their own skills and strengths, building leadership, creativity and confidence.  This would be an excellent experience for your child. For more information contact Patti at 729-5600 x2.

Who knew that dogs love stories too?  During Neenah Public Library’s Pooches & Pages, children in first through sixth grade can come read to a dog between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.  No registration required. Pooches & Pages is held on the second Saturday of every month.  It is a reading program designed to build reading confidence and self-esteem, help a child maintain focus for a longer period of time, and increase the motivation to read.  Dogs are carefully selected to ensure a safe and fun experience, and the owner/handlers are library volunteers who love helping children become enthusiastic readers.  The dogs are gentle, calm and polite and listen patiently and without judgment as a child reads aloud.
