Family Support Services

Children do not live in isolation, so at Best Friends of Neenah-Menasha we believe that we can best meet the needs of the children in our program by providing services to the people who most directly impact their lives - their families.  The Best Friends Family Program is designed to help families meet their basic needs and build their financial self-sufficiency. We provide opportunities for our families that reduce risk factors for abuse and neglect.  Services provided include activities that strengthen the family unit, financial support for educational and/or enrichment opportunities, community connections to eliminate isolation, and higher education initiatives.

Outreach Services:

Community Connections are referrals made on behalf of our families to other programs and agencies (ex: Back to School Fair, Christmas Giving Program, Empire Beauty School).

The Helping Hands Fund is designed to provide financial assistance for our children and families wanting to partake in enrichment opportunities.  Upon completion of an application, funding decisions are made by the staff of Best Friends. 

The Single Parent, Take a Break Fund is designed to provide single parents the opportunity to obtain a break from the demands of parenthood (ex: YMCA passes, movie passes, massage, theater tickets). Upon completion of an application, funding decisions are made by the staff of Best Friends. 

H.S. Outreach Services

This service is designed to provide our kids with the tools needed to graduate from high school and become self sufficient adults.  It includes preparation for moving on to secondary education.  This initiative focuses on meeting specific goals and requires a team effort between the mentor, child, and school counselor beginning the freshman year of high school.
